Farm Tours
Westover Farm Tours by Landrover
Step off the beaten track and into the heart of our working farm with a relaxed, informative two-hour guided tour in our Land Rover Defender. Designed for small groups (up to 10 people), this experience offers a comfortable and immersive way to explore the landscape, understand how we farm, and see our environmental and diversification projects up close.
What to Expect
After a briefing from your guide, you will board our 12-seater Land Rover for a trip exploring hidden corners of the farm. Along the way we’ll share the story of our farm: how it has evolved, the principles that guide us today, and the challenges and rewards of farming. We may see deer, hares, red kites and many farmland birds and plants.
Arable Farming: Balancing Production and Nature
We will explore the crops we grow and how we try to balance food production with soil resilience and protecting natural ecosystems. Through government stewardship schemes, we have introduced measures such as field margins to encourage biodiversity alongside our crops. These schemes play an important role in helping farms like ours deliver environmental benefits while continuing to produce food.
Explore Our Market Garden
We stop at the market garden, where you’ll see how we grow fresh, seasonal produce using sustainable non-dig methods. Depending on the season, you may see sowing, harvesting, or everything in between.
Discover Our Hedges & Woodlands
Our journey continues past woodlands, where you’ll experience a quieter side of the farm. We’ll talk about how we manage these areas for birds and mammals. Keep an eye out for native plants and animals along the way.
River Restoration in Action
A highlight of the tour is a visit to our award-winning chalk stream restoration project. Here, you’ll see how we’re working to improve water quality, restore natural habitats and reduce erosion.
A Personal and Informative Experience
There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage in conversation. Whether you’re curious about farming practices, conservation work, renewable energy or rural life in general, we’re happy to share our knowledge and experiences.

Testimonials
“We had a fantastic day with our team on a tour of Westover Farm, kindly hosted by Will. It was a great opportunity to see farming firsthand—insightful, engaging, and a powerful reminder of the importance of understanding our core farming clients and their day‑to‑day operations. Being able to plant plugs in the sunshine as part of the farm's river restoration project was a true bonus. Thank you, Will. “ May 2026
“Highly recommended the farm tour! The way they've diversified, and the consideration for local wildlife is truly inspiring. The tour was informative and engaging, offering a glimpse into both the history and future of farming. Will was very welcoming and made the whole experience memorable, educational, and fun.” May 2026
“The tour of Westover Farm was engaging and interesting from the outset. Will was very welcoming, and made us feel like no question was a stupid question. We gained a deep understanding of how all areas of the farm operate, and to see and understand the diversifications first hand really demonstrated how much farmers have to adapt in order to keep their businesses profitable. Seeing and experiencing the work that goes into maintaining existing and creating new habitat for birds, fish and insects was truly inspiring.” May 2026
“Will's tour of the farm genuinely exceeded my expectations. It was great to see how diverse the farm is, I loved hearing about its history and the generational stories, the evolution of its practices, and all the exciting things planned for the future. It was also wonderful to see the animals and insects thriving in the beautiful habitats that Will and his team have created and maintained for them. The experience was both educational and uplifting. I came away with a lot more appreciation for farm life!”May 2026
“ I found the tour to be interesting and informative – Will was so lovely! As someone with a non-farming background it really helped give me a valuable insight into the size of the operation and just how tough but rewarding farming can be. A highlight was being amongst nature seeing field after field feeling so far away from the noise of everyday life – the crimson clover was absolutely beautiful.”
“We had a wonderful stay at Rowbury Farm Camping, set in a truly idyllic spot on Will's farm. The pitches are generously sized, the facilities are spotless, and the whole place has a welcoming, relaxed feel that immediately puts you at ease.
What really made our visit stand out, though, was Will himself and the gentle farm tour he offers. His family has farmed this land since the late 1800s, and his passion for it shines through in every part of the experience. Touring the farm in his Land Rover was both fun and fascinating, as he guided us through different areas and shared the history, as well as the many projects he's leading to support wildlife and protect the environment.
We were a mixed group, including two young boys, and Will kept everyone completely engaged from start to finish — no small feat! His knowledge is impressive, but it's his enthusiasm and storytelling that really bring it all to life. Will clearly feels a sense of responsibility to look after this beautiful arable farm and the wildlife that depends on it.
The tour was an unexpected highlight and a fantastic addition to an already lovely stay. We'd highly recommend both the campsite and Will's tour to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a real connection to the natural environment.” HP April 2026
